MS joins Google, IBM, Dell, & GE in rush to Electronic Medical Records
Microsoft joins
Google, IBM, Dell, General Electric, Siemens, McKesson and Cerner in
the rush to profit from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
designation of $19 billion for healthcare information technology. Microsoft acquired Sentillion Inc.,
a privately held company specializing in software for the healthcare
industry. The Andover, Mass.-based Software as a Service (SaaS)
developer supports approximately 500,000 caregivers across North
America and Europe, according to Sentillion. The vendor's Single Sign-On
(SSO) system was highly ranked by KLAS, an independent healthcare research firm. In fact, KLAS
listed Sentillion as the 2008 industry leader for SSO.
